2026 Honda Civic Sedan vs 2026 Honda Civic Hatchback

Serving Chicago, IL

The impressive Honda Civic has been the small car of choice for drivers in the Chicago area and beyond for decades. In 2026, the Civic continues to be in its 11th generation, and it is offered in both sedan and hatchback body styles. What are the important differences between the 2026 Honda Civic Sedan and the 2026 Civic Hatchback?

Performance

The trim levels for the Civic Sedan are the LX, Sport, Sport Hybrid, and Sport Touring Hybrid. For the hatchback body style, you can choose from the Sport, Sport Hybrid, and Sport Touring Hybrid. For both body styles, the LX and Sport trims have a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter, 150-horsepower engine with a continuously variable automatic transmission. The hybrid trim levels come with a hybrid variant of this same four-cylinder engine, and the engine produces 200 horsepower.

Appearance

The Civic Sedan is a four-door model with a sweeping, tapered roof and crisp, angled definition running along the sides. At the front, the minimalistic grille extends to the sides to connect with the LED-enhanced headlights. The black bumper is subtly squared off, and it is flanked by gill-like air vents. The Civic Hatchback is almost identical to the sedan body style with a few exceptions. This is a four-door vehicle with a strongly raked roofline. The wheel design is also sportier.

Features

The entry-level LX Sedan offers essentials like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 7-inch infotainment system screen, auto climate control, forward collision warning, traffic jam assist, lane keeping, adaptive cruise control, and a lane departure alert. The Sport adds more speakers to the sound system, a blind-spot warning, ambient cabin lights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, remote start, and keyless entry. Other features offered in the higher trim levels are leather upholstery, wireless smartphone charging, a digital instrument gauge, a 10-speaker Bose sound system, Google apps, a 9-inch touch display screen, and more.
